Let's start off the course with a very brief overview of what we'll build out in the very first section of our course. The main topics we'll focus on are here: - UIStackViews component layout - User Card containers - UIPanGestureRecognizer for dragging and dropping - Rotational Transformations - Clean code.

I hope so :-) I think a total of seventeen lessons might be a little short. The Podcast and Instagram course have forty to fifty lessons, so I am looking forward to at least 25+ if that is possible. I am not sure if you want to cover the messaging and profile part as well.

Hi Brian, I would definitely pay for a course that teaches you how to set up a dummy JavaScript https server from which we then pull JSON files because I really have no idea how to create these files or even where these files come from

bought it already (and I'll keep enrolling because, somehow :), you have like a monopoly on this type of content :] ) but.. for $50+ you just HAVE TO put more than handlePan, translate + constraints stuff :) other courses (insta/coredata/podcast) are 40+ lessons of both ui and "under the hood" content....

Thank you for the quick response! That's awesome to hear as I am actually looking for content where the UI is built programmatically. The majority of courses are all interface builder, so I'm excited to enroll.

Like this person (sorry I can't read Chinese, so I can't give his name) I would like subtitles (I'm deaf). I have recently seen other Vimeo sites using subtitles. So I think this option is now available. Can you please check again if subtitles are now possible?

Hi Brian, I have just started the course, but I was wondering if there is or there is going to be a lesson which covers detecting a slow and no internet connection inside the application pretty much Facebook and Google do for their apps. If you could add some video on this topic, it'd be really great. Thank you very much for quality content.

I wish you had used three child view controllers for the three sections instead of a view and two stack views. I think this is a more common practice.
sraffe
It ends up being very similar. Each of the 3 sections gets abstracted into its own UIView class.

Hi Bryan, Your courses look awesome btw. However, I'm curious if you import/use any of your own custom libraries into your projects? The reason I ask this is because honestly we beginners only want to use Apple libraries to code and build app. Using some engineers's custom framework just makes us clueless

I'm taking these courses to help refresh myself concepts, see what everyone else is doing, and perhaps add some things to my tool box. Sometimes I feel like I'm stuck in my own little bubble! Gotta say, I love that you just build the app and go. Then you go through the whole refactoring portion which is what we do in the real world. Too many tutorials walk you through having everything perfectly placed in it's appropriate class right off the bat.

Hi Brian, I'm probably going to buy this course but I want to know if you'll do the chat part of this app? I know you have produced multiple chat apps on youtube for free but I want to know if there's newer techniques you can use for this app. Thanks.

Thanks, Brain :) Looking forward to learning SwiftUI complete courses from you. BTW, Brain do you have the package for mentoring university studetns courses because I saw you have monitoring for the professional developers but it is quite expensive one hour for $120 USD. I hope that we have adapted level for students to become junior iOS developers when we graduate from university.

Hi Brian! I enjoy this course but when SwiftUI release which means that we will not use a storyboard. This might be a different concept of UIKIT. If you have time, would you like to update about SwiftUI part instead of storyboard?

Hi, thanks for the quick answer. I changed swift language version as 4.2 and 4.0 under Project Setting and i choose 11.4 as target platform. But xcode still give error about Swift 5. SWIFT_VERSION '5.0' is unsupported, supported versions are: 3.0, 4.0, 4.2. (in target 'LBTATools')

I selected 10.2 but still same error; i am missing something and i will try fix it later. I have limited disk space and internet connection for the current location; so i am at version 11.4 :)

Hey Brian, what is the possibility of adding bookmark/ note features to each lesson in your courses for the customers because like you adding a whole bunch of green // comments in the code can get messy and somewhat confusing.

Hello Brian..! I want to build a module with collection view inside tableview's cell where collection view is having dynamic height with a UILabel inside it, also i want tableview cells to have section headers. David Guarino! i was asking if course is for a beginner or an intermediate iOS app developer. I believe you understood my question to Brian instead of you messing around.
David Guarino

Yes I was messing around! In all seriousness if someone is a complete beginner this course may seem overwhelming, especially because it's programmatically written. I would suggest to look up YouTube for beginners channels like Code with Chris, Paul Hudson, Sean Allen then work to Let's Build That app(Brian Voong)....again this is my opinion everyone will take their own path they just have to find out how they learn. Hope this helps and Good Luck!

Hey Brian, in your intro video I saw that the locations are missing. How do you create an efficient query for firestore where you orderBy geohashes (position) of other people compared to yourself (which is a range) and also include the age-range because firestore says that you can only query a single range. If I could query both together it'd be kinda efficient but that doesn't work? All other possibilities seem just extremeley inefficient which create many many reads. How could I approach that problem?
